Do you love riding sweet trails. Remember, they don’t maintain themselves. Please consider making trail work part of your mountain biking schedule. Not only do you get to fix stuff on the trail, each time you ride that trail in the future you will have the satisfaction of saying to yourself, I did that. Also, the road to the top of FR79 has been graded, so it is now easy to drive to the upper trailhead without a high clearance vehicle.

These will be the first work days of 2024. We will be doing spring maintenance, buff up the trails in a few spots, work on berms, and get the trails ready for the 2025 ride season. There could be a bit of weather in the forecast. I’ll confirm with everyone who signs up via email on Friday before the work day. Plan to dress for the weather. 

We will bring breakfast burritos in the morning and cold drinks for the end of the work day. We will finish by 1-2pm.

Join us for a women’s group ride to celebrate Women’s International Mountain Biking Day! Meet 10:00 am at Frijoles Trailhead, La Tierra Trails on Saturday, May 3rd. Roll out by 10:15 am. We’ll have some snacks & drinks after the ride at the picnic tables to celebrate!
 
Women’s Mountain Biking Day happens every year on the first Saturday in May. Across the country, hundreds of mountain biking clubs and thousands of women around the country gather to ride: for fun, for connection, for fitness and health, and for the great pleasure of doing rad things with other people like them. From small group rides, to solo rides for busy mamas, to large events, IMBA local member organizations honor the contributions of the women in our communities, on our Boards, in our volunteer groups, and on our trails!

Come ride the fast, flowy singletrack at Galisteo Basin Preserve and help raise money to support the growth and upkeep of these trails. An endurance challenge for racers and mountain bike adventure party for everyone else, the 2025 edition of Six Hours in the Basin will kick off at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025. 
 
Sponsored by the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society, the loop course starts at the Cowboy Shack Trailhead and traces nine miles of the finest trails at GBP. Whether you choose to take the challenge solo or as a relay with a partner or team (up to 6), the goal is to log as many laps as possible before 3 p.m. sharp. Get your weekend off on the right foot and join us at La Tierra Trails on Fridays at 1:00 pm for a group ride! Meet at the La Cuchara Trailhead at 12:45pm, roll out at 1:00pm. We’ll meet at the same place and time every Friday for a fun co-ed ride. Bring a lawn chair and cooler to hang around afterwards.
 
We’ll keep a mellow/chill pace on this no drop, non-intimidating group ride. Expect 60-90 minute rides covering 8-12 miles and a fun social pace. We’ll pause at trail intersections to ensure no one gets dropped. We’ll mix up the routes to learn most of the La Tierra trails and routes.

This is our weekly Kids’ and Family Ride that happens each Monday evening. We will split into skill levels as needed, and all rides are no drop rides.  
 
Meet at Los Frijoles Trailhead at 5:30, prepared to ride at 5:45.
