Mark your calendar for April 18 and join us for the 6 Hours in the Basin race, featuring a flowy, scenic nine-mile loop set in the Galisteo Basin Preserve (GBP). The trails are fast and fun and make for some great endurance racing. The race will start at 9am and ends at 3pm. Only laps completed before the 3pm deadline count towards the results. View the route on Trailforks.
All race proceeds benefit Commonweal Conservancy, the nonprofit steward of the Galisteo Basin Preserve (GBP) and its privately owned, publicly accessible 48-mile trail system. The Santa Fe Fat Tire Society proudly partners in building and maintaining these trails.
There are categories for individuals, duos, and teams of 3 or more. Junior racers, under the age of 19, get 50% off their registration. New this year is a food truck with breakfast and lunch menus, as well as a DJ! Register before March 2nd for early bird pricing. The first 100 riders will receive an event t-shirt.
Partner with SFFTS and the Galisteo Basin Preserve as a valued sponsor of the 6 Hours in the Basin Race. Sponsorship offers meaningful brand exposure, including your name or logo on the official event T-shirt, the race website, and recognition throughout race day.

This event can’t happen without volunteers! There are many ways to lend a hand, including course support, registration, parking, setup and breakdown, and more. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact Marisa at marisa.ortiz@santafefattiresociety.org.
This will be the 8th annual running of the event and the second hosted by the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society. Proceeds benefit the Commonweal Conservancy, the nonprofit that manages and oversees the Galisteo Basin Preserve.
