Info: Volunteers will be helping put the finishing touches on two new hiking/mountain biking trails totally 3.74 miles. Volunteers will meet at the Cottonwood Trailhead. Volunteers should bring work gloves, hat, water, sunscreen and wear closed toe, heavy work boots. Snacks will be provided.

Info: SFFTS will be giving out Tech T’s to all participants and will be raffling about a half dozen tires. This is a project on USFS land, so remember that long pants, long sleeves, above-ankle boots, leather gloves, eye protection, and a daypack with lunch and at least three quarts of water are required.
The Santa Fe National Forest will reopen portions of the forest beginning Friday, July 12th at 8:00 a.m. The Forest will lift the full closure and move into Stage I fire restrictions. However, some areas of the Forest will remain closed due to impacts by wildfires or potential for flooding. “Areas of the forest affected by the Tres Lagunas, Thompson Ridge, and Jaroso fires will remain closed for public safety,” announced Deputy Forest Supervisor Joe Norrell.
The Santa Fe National Forest will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, and shall remain in effect until December 31, 2013, or until rescinded, whichever event occurs first. This closure includes, but is not limited to, the following trails: Winsor, Borrego, Bear Wallow, Chamisa, Rio en Medio, Tesuque Creek, Juan, Saddleback (Sidewinder) Atalaya and St. John's. The attached map depicts both Stage II fire restrictions and areas of closure.
