Description: We'll meet at the Norski parking area and hike down the Winsor Trail to the works site. You must wear long pants, long sleeves, and work boots to work on a Forest Service site. Hard hats will be provided. Sorry, no dogs allowed.

The Santa Fe National Forest is lifting fire restrictions for portions of the forest effective Saturday, July 30. “The recent arrival of monsoonal rains and other changes in weather patterns have brought a welcome relief from extreme conditions,” said Forest Supervisor, Maria T. Garcia.
The Las Conchas Fire and the Pacheco Fire areas will remain in Stage III Fire Closures. The Jemez Ranger District, portions of the Cuba Ranger District and the Valles Caldera National Preserve will implement Stage I Fire Restrictions.

The Santa Fe Fat Tire Society Youth Program is a mountain bike riding program for youths from 8 to 15 years of age and all levels of riding skills. We will bring to the children basic bike knowledge, riding skills, trail safety and etiquette. Not only will we coach the use of the trails, we will be maintaining trails in an effort to enhance the experience. Each child will need a gear shifting bike, helmet and gloves. In addition, a camel back with water and other equipment, such as spare tube, power snack, rain jacket, is a good idea.

The City of Santa Fe and its consultant, Design Office, will present the results of a year-long series of planning meetings among user groups to develop an extensive, multi-use trail system on the City's Open Space in the Northwest Quadrant called the La Tierra Trails.
